Charlie's online shopping advice

As you know I LUUURVE shopping but I know that when it comes to online buying, but if you decide to buy stuff from the internet, you will probably need to register to that particular site first. Be cautious of any site asking you for lots of personal details as you never know what they will do with them! It's always best to get an adult to advise and help you, even if you have your own bank account and debit card. However, it's generally safe to buy stuff off the net as long as you can see that little padlock on your web browser. This is there to tell you no other internet users (or hackers) can read your information. I advise that you also check out the site's refund policies to make sure you can return the item if it turns out not to be what you expected. In the UK, you have the same refund and exchange rights as you would if you bought something from a shop, but be extra careful if what you are buying is from another country!

Make sure you are extremely careful not to tell anyone your card details if they seem untrustworthy and DEFINITELY don't reveal any of your passwords to ANYBODY, after all you wouldn't tell a complete stranger in the street your bank pin number or the combination to your secret diary would you?! No bank or respectable online service will ever ask you for your passwords, even by e-mail, and if they do it is likely to be someone trying to trick you into giving them your personal information. BE WARNED and stay SMART!
